Hello and welcome to all my fellow crafters, crocheters and scrapbookers!
This is a crochet, crafting, and scrapbooking blog where I help you to be a Crafting Superstar who wows their friends and family with fabulous creations!
I’ll share my craft tutorials (including my crafting disasters – just so you know what NOT to do!), crochet patterns, scrapbook layout ideas and printables for you and your home.
About me
My name is Heidi, my pronouns are she/her, and I am a crafting junkie… there I’ve said it!
Like alot of people, I’ve been a crafter in one form or another since I was a child, my crafting obsessions have included knitting and crochet; papercrafting (scrapbooks and card making); cake decorating; embroidery; cross-stitch; salt dough… the list goes on (and on!). Whatever my latest crafting obsession is, that is what I spend most of my free time doing.
I am single Mum to one grown up son, and one fur baby, a lurcher called Turner (we recently lost our other fur baby and Turner misses her dreadfully) unfortunately we lost both of my fur babies and now miss them both terribly… but…somehow we now have a couple of invertebrates as pets in the form of a tarantula and a scorpion (how?…why?). If you’d like to hear more about them let me know.
By day I work full time in an office, by night you can normally find me working on one project or another whilst dreaming of making crafting my full time profession (I’m working on it!). I even have a couple of Etsy shops where I sell my crochet patterns and digital printables.
I first started selling my handmade items back in the late 1990s when my son was small. I’d become a single parent when he was just a year old and I needed a way to make some extra cash so I started creating and selling handmade cards to family, friends and work colleagues.
You’ve got to remember, this was before Etsy and the internet was still relatively new (yes, I’m that old!). At that time when you signed up for an email account you were offered a free webdomain and I created my first website, called Mystic Heart (Ker-riiiinge), where I attempted to sell handmade wedding invitations.
I had big ideas (whispers: I’ve ALWAYS got big ideas lol) but no clue how to market my website to get customers. I’ve learned a LOT since then. If you’re interested in hearing more, drop me a line and I’ll happily share my experiences with you.
Anyhoo, I’ll be sharing my crafting tales with you, there will be plenty of links to free projects, patterns and things that have inspired me.
Want to sell products made from Gorgeous Crafts crochet patterns?
As long as you don’t sell or reproduce the written pattern (in printed or digital format), you are welcome to use any of the free or paid Gorgeous Crafts crochet patterns to make items to sell. Please include a link to the free pattern with credit for the design on any online listing. If you are selling at a fair or retail shop, just note this information on the tag. Thank you!
Happy crafting!
