I love the holidays and all the festivities that surround this time of year. As a crocheter having Christmas crochet patterns at your fingertips is a must have!
Decorating the tree
Decorating the tree is a family event with everyone helping out by carefully placing the ornaments to fill the gaps but without placing decorations of the same colour too close together…. oh, is that just me?
Actually, my son is now just as particular about how the tree is decorated and will no doubt direct future generations in the art of tree decoration in years to come– I’ve trained him well… I’m so proud!
Anyhoo, as my son was growing up the tree has always been a mixture of colours to match the homemade decorations that were brought home at the end of the school term – most of which are all still proudly displayed on the tree each year!
However, over the years we’ve lost a few of the homemade decorations (we won’t mention the year that the garage roof leaked destroying a load of salt dough decorations – I don’t think he’s forgiven me for that yet) and the ordinary (non-homemade) decorations are looking a little tired, so I think the time has come for a new set of decorations. Homemade of course!
I’ve always like the rustic look and as crochet is one of my favourite obsessions at the moment I have been scouring the web for ideas. I have pulled together 12 of the best Christmas crochet patterns I have been able to find. For most of these projects all you need are some yarn; a hook and maybe some festive ribbon!
