Crochet Alongs are great fun. This is a 4-week-long Crochet Along that will be more interesting, and exciting! It’s long enough to allow you to take your time to finish a project without overwhelm. But short enough to keep your interest high so you can finish your WIP.
Join this FREE crochet along for the Country Garden Cowl Mosaic Crochet Pattern. It’s broken up into 4 parts over 4 weeks. Each part of the pattern will include both UK and US terms. It’s suitable for intermediate crocheters or confident beginners.
If you love wearing silk scarves as part of your daily outfit then the Country Garden Cowl is perfect for you. I designed this cowl to be light enough to wear every day, indoors and out. Wear it as a statement piece to complement your autumn and winter wardrobes, or simply keep snug when you’re walking the dog or tending the garden.

Can I use a different brand of yarn?
Yes of course! You can swap it out and use a different brand of yarn, or even a different fibre if you prefer. Stick with the same weight yarn and choose one that has a similar number of metres/yards per 100g.
You can find more 4-ply yarns from these stores:
LoveCrafts
KnitPicks
WoolWarehouse (ships internationally)
Can I use a different weight yarn?
Yes but keep in mind that the amount of yarn required will also differ to those listed here. Additionally, a heavier weight yarn will mean a taller cowl with a bigger circumference and a smaller-weight yarn will give you a shorter cowl with a smaller circumference. If you decide to use a different weight yarn you can always skip or extend the cuffs at the top and bottom; or add/reduce the number of foundation stitches to increase/decrease the circumference. The pattern has a 36 stitch repeat.
What colours can I use?
Ideally you should use two contrasting colours (one light, one dark). But this pattern is also ideal for using all those beautiful hand-dyed yarns, maybe choose a solid colour as the contrast.
The pdf version of the pattern comes with the yarn amounts required when using 5 different colours as well as a larger size. To get started straight away you can purchase the pdf in my Etsy shop or on Ravelry.
Can I use a different size hook?
Yes, the recommended hook size is 3mm but you can use a 3.25mm hook or any size that you need to achieve the correct gauge. Please bear in mind if you use a bigger hook the cowl may be slightly larger.
How many parts to the pattern will there be?
There will be 4 parts in total, the links to each part will be added below. Jump to the links
Is the Country Garden Cowl CAL free?
Yes absolutely! It is completely free to take part in the Country Garden Cowl crochet along. Please see above for the four ways you can join (three of them are free!). Each piece of the pattern will be published publicly on my blog for all to access anytime. However if you prefer to have the ad-free pdfs, you can purchase them from my Etsy or Ravelry stores
What if I have a question about the pattern?
If you have a question you can either join the Facebook group and add your question there; you can direct message me on Instagram; or you can fill in the contact form here.
Do I have to joint the Facebook group/subscribe to your newsletter?
No, not if you don’t want to. Updates and links will be sent out using both of these options, but this page will be updated weekly below. Just be sure to bookmark or pin this page to your Pinterest board so you don’t lose it. Also see the question above about how to get help with the pattern.
