Here is a perfect scrapbook layout for baby’s first Christmas.

Years ago I bought a copy of a scrapbook magazine (which is now no longer published) and fell in love with their cover layout, ‘Bloom’. It was really pretty with spring colours and it inspired me to scraplift the look and recreate it with a Christmas theme for my nephew’s first Christmas.

The photo was probably the best one of my nephew throughout the whole holiday season and I felt it deserved a special layout so the ‘Bloom’ layout was perfect.

Materials I used

I used a dot textured white card backing and then cut small squares from several different Christmas themed papers using a punch.  I inked around the edges of all the squares with a cranberry red.  I backed the photo with the white dotty papers and inked around that too.  I put the photo into place before adding the squares to the bottom left and top right corners to create an arrow shape.

The papers I used were from a Christmas kit that I bought years ago from QVC so I don’t know the designers I’m afraid.  The candy cane, Christmas wreath and the title spot came with the kit, the Christmas tree, baubles, holly and Dec 24th spot are by We R Memory Keepers and came free with another Scrapbook Magazine.  The star brads and red ribbon were already in my stash and the circular alphabet embellishments were also free from some craft magazine or another that I’ve had sitting around for ages.

Once everything was in place I used red and icy coloured Stickles glitter glue to highlight the red spots on the white background paper, the holly berries, the baubles, the red oval around the title and on the star brads.

I was very pleased with the way this layout turned out, I hope you like it – if you use this layout don’t forget to let me know or tag me @gorgeouscrafts
